"Please explain me about it"

と言ったことが何度もある。

The infinitive is a form of the verb, usually used with "to". Sometimes an infinitive does not use "to" (that's why "to" is in brackets below). Infinitives look like this:

• (to) go;
• (to) do;
• (to) watch;
• (to) see; etc.

It can be very difficult to know what to say in English when you would say ___の___ in Japanese. Most Japanese speakers just say "___ of ___". However, this can often sound really, really strange in English. There are lots of ways to use ___の___ in Japanese, and they translate very differently in English. Actually, there are four main ways you can say ___の___ in English:

1. ___'s ___: e.g. Bob's car;
2. ___ of ___: e.g. the President of the United States;
3. [noun] [noun]: e.g. "English teacher" and "English lesson"; and
4. a prepositional phrase: e.g. the appointment on Wednesday.
